Blend of 12 Herbs, Honey, and Resins

Sodhana is drawn from centuries of Indian tradition, carried into the home through women’s quietly preserved knowledge. In courtyards rinsed at dawn, in kitchens where herbs were sorted, at forest edges and temple towns where air was kept open, women worked with smoke and restraint to clear what felt heavy. The aim was exact: to lift dark residue from a room and return it to steadiness, so sleep, focus, and prayer could return without strain again.

Materials were chosen with care, with Nagarmotha and Jatamansi kept for calm. Sweet flag, turmeric, cinnamon, clove, and star anise were used when warmth and clarity were sought. Agarwood, sandalwood, and cedarwood entered sparingly, prized for depth. Guggul, loban, neem, and kapur belonged to purifying rites, used when the air needed cleansing. Honey and ghee added continuity; joss powder lent form. The Sharangadhara Samhita frames cleansing as environmental as well as personal, tying air, place, and inner state.

Sodhana gathers this inheritance across landscapes, with spikenard from high foothills, resinous woods from Deccan soils, and powders from forest communities where smoke was long treated as domestic care. What unites them is gentleness: negativity is loosened, not battled. Twelve elements are held in proportion, not excess. Coconut oil carries; ghee anchors; honey binds. Sodhana claims no cure; it offers restoration: a space made clear, breathable, and receptive again, so the mind can settle and the body feel unguarded.
